alpha industries 1959 bomber jackets

57 Years of Alpha Industries

17th Oct

In 1959, Alpha Industries' founder Samuel Gelber incorporated his new company. With the mission to dress the brave servicemen on the US Armed Forces, Gelber took on the subcontracting work making the MA-1 flight jacket. By December 1959, the first official Department of Defense contract was in place for the company.

In almost 60 years Alpha Industries has continued to hold its mission of outfitting bravery in all forms; from the soldier to the everyday guys in the city, the brand battles on with inspiring heroism in all of us.

To celebrate the birthday, Alpha Industries teamed up with Hypebeast, offering up a brief history of the MA-1 bomber jacket. Watch it here.
